Hazan, Joseph

Son of Ayush and Joy. He was born on January 27, 1932 in Casablanca, Morocco. He attended an Alliance elementary school in his hometown. He worked as a shopkeeper. He immigrated to Israel in 1950. A month before he was recruited, he was in the Ein Gev farm. He was drafted into the IDF in December 1950. He fell in a battle in the Jordan River near Lake Kinneret on 6.5.1951 and was buried in the military cemetery in Afula. On the 17th of Sivan 5712 (17.6.1952) he was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
