Calpe, Eliezer


Eliezer, son of Bilha and Yosef-Meir, was born on 1.7.1953 in Moshav Tzrufa and studied at the religious elementary school in Nir Etzion and at the ORT regional high school in Yemin-Orde. Eliezer was a modest and quiet student, and therefore not conspicuous, but thanks to his calmness and humility, he liked all his acquaintances. Because of financial difficulties at home, he decided to abandon his studies and began working in the framework profession, which he attended at the ORT school. Thus he made his own living and also helped support the family. He was a member of the youth movement that studied and worked in the moshav movement and participated in its activities. Despite the fact that when he was two years old he suffered from severe pneumonia and was miraculously saved from death, Eliezer grew up and developed into a handsome, strong, strong, tall, broad-shouldered man with a masculine appearance. He was an excellent athlete and regularly participated in soccer competitions, was a good horsebacker and was a great swimmer. He also saved his sister from drowning in the sea. Eliezer was sociable, eager to help others and work for the common good, such as building a club for the moshav and taking care of the garden. He was accepted by his friends, who saw him as a leader, and liked the children of the moshav. Everyone respected him and called him a nickname “Ezer,” and his fiancé called him “Azi”. He was a devoted son to his family and always used to help his father in every job. He often implored his parents not to work and let him do any hard work for them. He always encouraged them and promised them that he would improve the family’s future economic situation. Eliezer was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1971. After completing his basic training, he was sent to the Golani brigade as a reservist and noncommissioned officer of the battalion police and was given the rank of corporal. Who was harassed by him during his service, and his commanding officer wrote: “He performs his duties in the best possible way and fits well into his position.
