Calev, Zohar
Son of Hannah and Reuven. He was born on 28.5.1972 in Jerusalem. His parents say: “Our Zohar was the most beautiful baby, really a little angel, and it seemed as if he was happy to emerge into the world, and his growth was accompanied by joy and age, a boy so smart, pleasant, comfortable and pleasant, throughout his short life ” Zohar was a very enthusiastic spectator in the tribe of Yehonatan in Mevasseret Zion. Zohar was usually a good and outstanding student, but the highlight of his life was his connection with all those around him and his great glory was in his human relations, he simply loved them all. At home, he was the one who, with his great sensitivity, always jumped first to shoulder, hand, and all of himself to his parents, his brothers, the whole family and, of course, everyone he met, the strong, the weak, and always. Zohar was a man of action. In October 1990, Zohar enlisted in the IDF, and after a few weeks of training, he was sent to a pilot course and stayed there for a year and a half, when the course’s commanders tried hard to turn him into an air crew. It was too bad for them to give it up, and Zahar did not leave on his own initiative, but as usual, he went where the flag called him to go. At the end of his service, he tried to convince him to continue in the air force, but of course he chose to do his best and join the infantry reconnaissance unit. He was eager to learn more. On 4 Iyar, May 7, 1992, three weeks before he turned 20, Zohar found his death from a bullet accidentally fired by a friend. Sergeant Zohar was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl. Survived by his parents and three brothers – Barak, Sa’ar and Lahav. His parents wrote: “Our dear son Zohar, you have applied your service in the Nahal with love, joy and age and in that Nachal you found your death … Zohar Your name Yes You were all your short life, a great light for everything around you … Son, , You have always been with us and will always be, as now the joy of the past fills with intense longing accompanied by a terrible and terrible pain that we have lost. “
