Cahani, Samuel


Son of Simcha and Shimon, was born on the 15th of Iyar, May 25, 1929, in Jerusalem. His family lived in the Yemin Moshe neighborhood. On the 4th of Shvat, January 15, 1948, when Shmuel and his father were engaged in fortifications, sniper fire opened from Sheikh Jarrah, and Shmuel was critically wounded and brought to Hadassah Hospital. After a few hours, he died of his wounds. He was brought to rest in the Mount of Olives Cemetery in Jerusalem. He was survived by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.
