Caesar, Shai


Son of Marda and Araleh, was born on December 10, 1960 in Kibbutz Gadot, the eldest son of his parents. He studied at the kibbutz school. When he was 7 years old he dreamed that Mount Hermon would be in our hands, and indeed he was able to ski in the snow of Mount Hermon during the last two winters of his studies at the Har Vagai School. Shai loved painting and working with clay. He acquired knowledge in nature and loved to care for animals. Biology and photography were his favorite subjects. He was an excellent athlete and had a good time swimming; He received many medals and specialized mainly in butterfly swimming; Learn to dive and loved it very much. Shai worked well with interesting methods, and liked to build furniture and various household items from metal and wood. In early 1980 he was drafted into the IDF and assigned to serve in the paratroopers. The Peace for Galilee War broke out a few months before he was supposed to be released from the army. Shai was with the force that penetrated enemy systems and advanced with his unit to the outskirts of Beirut. On the 11th of Sivan 5742 (11.6.1982) he camped with his unit in a night car park near Damur, where he was injured and killed. He was 21 years old. After his death he was promoted to sergeant. He was laid to rest at Kibbutz Gadot. Lay a master, a brother, and two sisters.
