Byadah, Mordechai

Son of Jacob and Sa’ida. He was born on the 23rd of Adar Alef 5711 (23.2.1951) in Moshav Eliashiv. He studied at the religious elementary school in Elyachin and spent one year at a vocational school in Kfar Sava. He later joined the professional division of “HaNoar HaOved”, through which he joined a young hachshara in the kibbutz. He was very active in the Gadna, was a sports fan and played football, was drafted into the IDF in late July 1969, successfully passed a course for squad commanders and was a candidate for an officer’s course, but because of his father’s death, 6.5.1970), two months after his father’s death and less than a year after his enlistment, fell on the slopes of Mount Hermon, in an encounter with an enemy ambush. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Moshav Elyachin.
