Bustan, Yoram


Ben Chana and Dan. Was born on December 24, 1951. When he enlisted in the IDF, he naturally turned to fulfilling his Lev’s wishes, and in fact joined the pilots ‘course in 1970. After two years Yoram completed his pilots’ course and took part in a combat pilots course, During the course of his service, Yoram taught at the flight school at the “preparatory” stage, and at this stage he was instructed to guide him, because of his desire to stay in nature, during the journeys and navigations, and to guide a younger generation to the love of the land. After a while, he completed his conversion course to “Kornas”, moved to a new squadron, and served there until he was discharged from regular service and then served in the reserves. In fact, a few months after his release, Yoram traveled around the world with a knapsack on his back, and Yoram documented the trip with letters and notes, accompanied by vivid paintings and illustrations, from everything he saw. In the Faculty of Engineering at Tel Aviv University, and worked as a spray pilot at Marom Ltd. In 1978, Yoram married a wife, and his only daughter Maya was born in 1979. During this period he also began building his home. Two days after the roof of his new home was installed, Yoram showed up for reserve duty in the squadron. On the night between Sunday and Monday, he went on a training flight. At 3:30 AM on Monday, June 2, 1980, he and his crew member had an accident, and Yoram never returned. Yoram was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. Yoram, who wanted so much to celebrate the anniversary of his daughter’s birth, did not get it. Two weeks before Maya’s birthday, his bitter fate had come to him. He was 28 years old when he died. He left behind a painful family, father, mother, brother, wife and daughter.
