Burstein, Chen
Ben Zohar and Avshalom was born on May 8, 1960 in Afula. The first years of childhood were spent at Kibbutz Tel Yosef, where he absorbed love for Israel and was educated on the tradition of work and pioneering among his family, one of the founders of the kibbutz and a member of the Gdud Ha’avoda. In Tel Yosef, Chen completed his first year of studies. Chen was able to listen to the feelings of those close to him, he was awake and attentive to what is happening around him and full of curiosity to know and examine the whole world. But most of all he considered the man. From childhood he had been fond of the medical profession, and he had seen his life purpose as a Heart surgeon. During his high school years, he attended general medicine courses and a course in cardiology at the University of Haifa. He studied these courses in addition to his regular studies at the school. He had an open heart and the ability to create a strong and direct connection with friends, did not hesitate to share his doubts and reveal his secrets, out of a desire to find the right way in his relations with others. He gave his family happiness and joy in his warm relationship to them, and his ability to accept their love and closeness with respect and appreciation. Chen was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1978. After completing basic training, he was sent to a training base of the Israel Defense Forces to learn a military profession.
