Burla, Jacob


Son of Menachem and Sarah. He was born on November 18, 1932, in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He graduated from elementary school there, as well as two high school classes. He was a member of Hashomer Hatzair since his childhood. Thanks to him, he was chosen as a young man to lead the “nest” in his city. The family immigrated to Israel in 1949. After immigrating, he was in a Bulgarian youth group in Kibbutz Dan. This group arrived in Ein Hahoresh in 1951; The group’s goal was to complete the kibbutz. He was a farmer and worked in the vineyards. Was drafted into the IDF as part of the Nahal Brigade in July 1951. Upon his return from military service to his kibbutz, his constructive and active personality was formed with discretion and moderation. Was responsible and devoted to work and yet found time to read and study. He fell in the line of duty on the 3rd of Tevet (22.12.1960) and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Ein Hahoresh, where he left a wife and a child. In memory of their friend.
