Buhbut, Haim


Ben Marcel and Salomon. He was born on May 27, 1973 in Yeruham. He studied at the Eli Cohen High School and at the Ort Sapir High School in the biological-biological track, and after completing his studies, he skipped a school year in grade 8. When he completed his studies he was too young to enlist, Haim volunteered for Magen David Adom and taught youth in the Hashomer Hatzair movement and was drafted into the IDF in 1991. He completed his basic training as an outstanding trainee and volunteered for a combat unit Golani Brigade – a position to which he aspired since the dawn of his youth. As usual, the unit invested enormous efforts in order to ensure that everything was done properly. When Haim was chosen as a model trainee, he continued his career in Yeruham, where he was known to all as a natural social leader and as a person who had a very strong positive influence on the youth. Chaim was loyal to his parents and very devoted to his family. He had a deep emotional connection with his twin brother, Ilan. He was always surrounded by good friends and his good friendships were a good thing in town. Yeruham still remembers Haim’s impressive appearance on television, where he spoke in praise of the good life in his city, despite its different image in the eyes of the public. On February 9, 1992, Chaim was killed while serving in the military section of the Yeruham cemetery, and his parents, three brothers and a sister – Uri, Meron, Ilan and Ayelet – told him: His friends, encourage them, and help them … was a candidate for the position of Staff Sergeant and an officer’s graduation course. In addition to his extensive work in the unit, Chaim was also a good-will emissary of the entire Golani Brigade in his settlement of Yeruham, and following his recommendations, many of his friends joined the brigade: “In memory of Haim is named after the Torah library in his synagogue.
