Buchwalter (Ringold), Varda
Daughter of Bracha and Yitzhak, was born on 27.2.1957 in Ramat Gan. Varda joined the IDF and served as a clerk, succeeding in her position and being fond of her commanders and members of the unit, and in May 1976 she rose to the rank of corporal. The opinion of her commanders was: “Excellent soldier, both professionally and socially.” She was about to be released from regular service in October 1977, but wanted to be released early in August because she decided to enroll in the Levinsky Seminar in Tel Aviv. But her plans changed when in December 1978 she married a friend, an officer in the IDF, and Varda began to look for her career as a military sergeant. Computers. On February 29, 1979, about two months after she joined the army, Varda died at the age of 22. She was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul in Tel Aviv, leaving behind her husband, parents and brother.
