Broza, Jonathan
Son of Tzila and son of-Zion (son of Shmuel Broza), was born on the 17th of Cheshvan 5728 (17.11.1927) in Motza. As a child, he moved with his parents to Pardes Hannah, where he completed his studies in the elementary school and then completed his studies and work at Mikvah Israel. From childhood, he devoted himself to helping his parents process the orchard and tried to reach the output of an adult worker. Was an active athlete in several sports. Yonatan enlisted in the Palmach and after two years of service stayed for another year of training and successfully completed a course for squad commanders. He participated in bringing illegal immigrants on the beach and in the activities of the struggle (explosion of bridges and radar stations, sabotage of transportation, etc.) and was among the prisoners in a detention camp after the “Black Sabbath” (29.6.1946). When he was released from the Palmach, he returned to work in his parents’ farm. He took part in many fierce battles against the gangs. On January 25, 1948 he left with a Palmach force to attack enemy concentrations in the area of Castel, where he encountered Arab reinforcements who arrived from Beit Sourik and developed a battle with hundreds of Arabs and a British force that arrived in the area. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
