Brown, Haim (“Haimka”)

Son of Eliyahu and Roza. He was born on the 17th of Sivan 5708 (24.6.1948) in Germany. His family immigrated to Israel in 1949. He studied at the Karkur school at the Amal vocational high school in Hadera and completed his studies at the Air Force Technical School in Haifa. His hobby was sports and he played soccer at the Maccabi Park in Pardes Hanna, but at the same time he worked extensively in assembling airplane models. Karkur, where he grew up, was a suitable place to design his quiet and strong character, far from the bustling volume of the city and the daily tension in it. This peace of mind, in which he was endowed, had a great deal of self-confidence, and this confidence informed his acquaintances and every person who came with him. A vibrant love of life combined beautifully with this confidence and quiet. He took an active part in social life and organization and was blessed with the special qualities of life-loving people. There was always a smile on his face and he did not try to hide anything behind her. Kindness, help to others in deed and thought, good will, readiness and honesty accompanied all that he did and wherever he went. He was not angry or angry at anyone and his friends appreciated him for it. He learned his profession diligently, out of a desire and recognition of responsibility. He was drafted into the IDF in early February 1966, and of course volunteered for the Israel Air Force, where he served in full faith and dedication, as his comrades tell him. He often worked as part of his job, evacuating the wounded from the Suez Canal and his good friend, noting the quiet and security that surrounded him and encouraged all the wounded around him. In early August 1968 he joined the career army. According to the commander of his unit, Chaim was discovered as a disciplined soldier, devoted to his work, to his friends and commanders, and also to his knowledge. On the 15th of Adar I 5702 (21.2.1970) he died and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Karkur. The commander wrote in a letter of condolence to the family: “During his service, your son took an active part in all the unit’s missions.” “As an airborne mechanic, he participated in operational activities in the squadron during the period following the Six-Day War, in operations beyond enemy lines, in pursuit and rescue operations, in the Suez Canal area and in the Arava. I will remember him with a smile on his lips. ” A library in the name of Chaim and the establishment of the school where he studied.
