Bronstein, Menashe
Son of Batya and Mordechai. He was born in Zichron Yaakov on June 14, 1889. When Avshalom Feinberg was caught by the Turks near El Arish, Menashe was sent by Aaron Aaronsohn to Haifa to try and secure Avshalom’s release. After discovering the Nili organization by the authorities and encircling Zikhron Ya’akov by Turkish soldiers for the purpose of searching and interrogations, Menashe escaped with two of his friends and the three hid in the surrounding mountains. In 1918, when the British army entered Damascus, he was released from prison, returned to his family in Zichron Yaakov and began to rehabilitate his ruined farm. In 1936 he participated in the security and guarding operations in the colony. On 17.5.1939 He traveled to Haifa and was on a bus from Hadar Hacarmel to the city, where he was shot and ambushed and taken to Hadassah Hospital. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Zichron Yaakov. He left a mother, a wife, two sons and three daughters.
