Brocha, Chaim

Son of Sarah and Jacob. Born on January 13, 1967 in Tel Aviv, Haim was born to a family from Turkey and was born after his four sisters, and after graduating from the Brenner elementary school in Tel Kabir, He moved to the municipal high school of Tel Aviv, where he moved to the 11th grade high school and completed his studies, and his favorite subject was mathematics, but he grew up in an environment that made it difficult for him to develop. He was always surrounded by friends and used to help everyone, and after completing his studies he worked for a while in Gdynia. His adjustment to military life was accompanied by difficulties, but later on he found his place in the unit and successfully passed an accounting course. Shortly before his release, he was offered a two-week summer camp in one of the Yesha settlements and then went on leave. Chaim responded willingly. On one of his days in the settlement with a group of soldiers, early in the morning, there was a gun accident and Haim was injured in it. He was rushed to a hospital, but the doctors’ efforts to save him failed. He fell in the line of duty on August 8, 1988 and was buried in the military cemetery in Holon. He was twenty-one when he died. He left a brother, parents and four older sisters – Carmela, Etti, Tzila and Adina. The letter of condolence sent by the unit commander to his parents states, among other things: “Your son served in the unit for a long time and stood out for his devotion, perseverance and initiative, and his Yaffa qualities were honest and credible to the system and the commanders.
