Good-hearted, intelligent and sensitive, a good friend and always willing to help others. From childhood he was interested in medicine, in the structure of a person and in the diseases that attack him. For many hours he devoted himself to reading books on this subject, and he always wanted to learn more. His thoroughness in this field did not prevent him from being active in a youth movement, taking part in organizing social events and engaging in sports. All his life he had been a devoted and loyal son to his parents and tried to help them as best he could. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in early August 1973 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade after completing his basic training course and was assigned to the brigade headquarters and served as a paramedic, and took part in the Yom Kippur War. In 1974, he took part in a parachuting course and returned to his unit. A short time later, he was transferred to a brigade reconnaissance company and served as a combat soldier and combat medic. Jacob was loved by his comrades in the unit and by his commanders. They appreciated him for being honest and a good friend who was always willing to do for others at the expense of his time and comfort. His commanders saw him as a good soldier and sent him to a course in commanding officers, and upon his graduation, on May 8, 1975, he was awarded the rank of corporal On May 21, 1975, Yaakov fell in the area of ​​Ramat The Golan was brought to rest in the cemetery in Ramot Hashavim, leaving behind parents and sister, and in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “I can not console.
