Brendman, Arieh-Dov


Son of Yosef and Fanny. He was born on May 29, 1955, in Tel Aviv, where he completed his elementary studies at the Aliya school in Haifa, and later decided to study a profession and went to a vocational high school in Samet in Haifa. Learn drafting and planning machines. At the beginning of his high school studies, he joined Gadna Air, studied the fundamentals of aeronautics and worked on building gliders and flying them from childhood in the chess game. At first he participated in competitions at the school, but when he saw that his progress was not fast enough he began to participate in national competitions and was accepted as a member of the Israeli Association He was drafted into the IDF in early August 1973 and assigned to the Engineering Corps. After basic training, he was sent to a plasim course. After Laplace, he took a course in the Corps of Engineers, and at the end of 1974 he was sent to a course for intelligence inspectors. On the 18th of Tevet 5731 (1.1.1975), Aryeh fell while serving. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents and brother. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Aryeh’s death left a deep scar in the Lev of all of us, and with his death we lost one of the good commanders who served us with dedication and love, with ability and talent. I can comfort you with your great loss, but our comfort is that we see ourselves as honored to continue his path and to fulfill our role in defending the homeland in the same spirit of loyalty that Aryeh demonstrated to us during his service. ” His family donated a Torah scroll to the Beit Binyamin Synagogue in Haifa, to commemorate his name.
