After a year of service in the battalion, Shai was assigned to the security unit in the General Staff camp. “Shay began his military service in a field unit and moved to our unit a short time ago, and during the entire period of Shai’s service in our unit, he was able to contribute as much as he could,” he said. Shai fell during his service on the 28th of Av 5757 (31.8.1997). He was twenty and a half when he fell. Shai was buried in the military cemetery in Netanya. Survived by his parents, brother and sister.
