Son of Lifsha and Chaim, was born on February 1, 1928, in the city of Vilna, Poland, to an assimilated family. When World War II broke out he fled with his family to the Soviet Union and was deported to Siberia. When he immigrated to Israel as part of the “Tehran Children’s Aliyah” he studied in Jerusalem. His parents also arrived in Israel after the end of the war. Yehonatan attended high school in Beit Hakerem, joined Betar and was the commander of the city’s nest. His underground name was “Samaritan.” In 1946 he was arrested and sent to Latrun, and when he was released from prison in May 1948, he learned that his parents had left the country. “If you have to pay in life to be with as much as the nations – we will pay” – was used to saying. During the “Yoav” operation, he fought in the ranks of the Givati ​​Brigade and participated in the attack on the Golikat outposts. In this battle he fell on the 19th of Tishrei, 5709 (19.10.1948), at the head of a squad of burglars. On the 17th of Tishrei, 5709 (October 20, 1948), he was put to rest in the cemetery in the village of Warburg.
