Ben Malka and Eliyahu. He was born on 24 May 1957 in Jerusalem. A boy with ten other sisters. Aryeh grew up in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem and was a mischievous boy. Even then his kindness and love for others stood out. He began his elementary studies at the religious school “Neve Yaakov” and continued at the religious high school “Ironi Gimmel” in his neighborhood. At the beginning of November 1975, Aryeh enlisted in the IDF and served as an armored personnel carrier in a parachute infantry battalion. He contributed his part in the Lebanon War, stayed in Lebanon with the unit even after the war, and took part in the days of the uprising in Judea, Samaria, the Gaza Strip and all the border lines. In April 1980, Aryeh began his work at the Israel Electric Company, in the Maintenance Department, and progressed to the status of an independent meter tester. At the same time, he studied at ORT school for technicians and practical engineers in the evening, received a technician degree in 1983, and in 1986 received a practical engineer degree. This year he met his choice of heart, Aviva, and the story of their love led to a marriage ceremony that year. Three months after the wedding, Aryeh’s father died. His eldest son, who was born in 1988, was named after the grandfather, Elijah, and restored the light to the life of the extended family. Two years later his daughter Odelia was born and in 1994 his daughter Alona was born. Aryeh was known as honest and modest. He was astonishing to perform any role – at work, in family life, or in reserve service. He was an exemplary son, a glorious husband, a devoted father to his children, and an incomparable brother. He admired and nurtured his children. Carried on his shoulders lovingly all the tasks and never complained. He extended a helping hand to anyone who did not expect a change. On the 25th of Adar 5756 (25 February 1996), during a reserve service, Arieh was killed while carrying out an explosive charge on bus No. 18 in the area of ​​the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem, killing eight soldiers and eighteen civilians. Who was thirty-nine years old when he fell in. After his fall Aryeh was promoted to the rank of major sergeant. Survived by his wife, three children, a mother and ten sisters – Varda, Sima, Dalia, Miriam, Dafna, Ruti, Batsheva, Hagit, Aliza and Nechama. Three months after his death, his grandfather Moshe died of sorrow. After the attack, extensive articles were published in the press, including Aryeh. His family published a book in his memory containing lines for his character, stories from his life, songs written by family members, friends and acquaintances, and pictures from various stations in his life. From the book, a poem written by his sister-in-law: “Not everyone has a wide family behind him / who loves and cares for him / Not everyone has friends who help him / and trust him / And know that you can laugh and cry / Not everyone has good hands that everything is spoiled / Not everyone has the ability to create a good relationship with each one and always give a good feeling to others. Anyone who has so much good / can be hidden, humble and humble … / Aryeh – you were the special one. ” On the first anniversary of his downfall, his mother commemorated his donation by donating a Torah scroll to the Ohel Avraham synagogue in Jerusalem. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote: “Arieh served as an armored personnel carrier in the infantry battalion. He was described by his commanders as a dedicated soldier who performed his role in the best possible way. Among his commanders and friends alike. ” The commander of the unit where he served, wrote to his family: “Aryeh was a dedicated and loyal soldier, modest and honest, who was taken from us in Jerusalem after a murderous attack …And contributed greatly to his work. He was described by his commanders and friends as an exemplary member, always first in every mission, as difficult as he could, and performed his duties in the best possible way without hesitation. For many years he has steadfastly stabilized all the missions of the unit. “
