Brandwin, David
Son of Chaya and Yehiel, was born on June 6, 1926 in Tel Aviv, where he spent his childhood. After completing his second grade, he moved with his parents to the village of Azar, where he continued his studies, hoping to continue in a high school in the Borochov neighborhood, but his parents’ hard physical situation forced him to stop his studies and work in mechanics He went to Kibbutz Ashdot Yaakov, joined the Palmach and took part in the bombing of the bridges. On June 29, 1946 (“Black Sabbath”) he was taken with the rest of the detainees to Rafah and was detained there. After his release, even before he was able to attend his studies, the United Nations General Assembly resolution on the partition of the land came into being, and it was not long before he joined his colleagues in the defense of the homeland.
