Brand, Revital (Tali)


Daughter of Zivia and Abraham. Was born on 26 February 1967 in Kiryat Yam, the eldest daughter of her parents. Tali began her elementary studies at the Orim school in Kiryat Yam. When she was nine years old, the family moved to Kibbutz Sha’ar Ha’amakim, where she continued her studies at the kibbutz elementary school. Tali attended the junior high school and high school at Kibbutz Mizra, and completed her studies at the Rothschild House on Mount Carmel, where she studied dance. At the end of November 1985, Tali was drafted into compulsory military service, and after completing basic training, she underwent a training course for emergency workers. On 19.10.1986, Tali was injured in a road accident on her way from the base to her home. She was rushed to the hospital in Afula and hospitalized in critical condition for two days. On October 18, 1986, Tali died from her wounds. She was nineteen years old. She was brought to rest in the military section of the Sha’ar Ha’amakim cemetery. Survived by her parents, her brother Yaron and her sister Vered. Her commander eulogized her on her grave: “… Revital stood out in her energy and joy, she was a real friend who could listen.” In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Revital came to my unit as a military worker, following an IDF course among the first of its kind to train girls as assistants in organizing the army’s emergency storerooms. Revital did her job very well. Her friends say that Revital was a good friend, willing to help everyone “
