Brand, Omer

Son of Miriam and David. He was born on October 12, 1986 in Naan, in the name of Omer-Eliezer, a young brother of Oren and Liraz, who was born early in the morning of Yom Kippur, when his father’s father served in Gaza and his mother rushed friends to the hospital. “Since then, you have always been surrounded by big and small friends,” said his mother, who moved quickly and easily without any fear. Grandfather Itzka wanted to teach him to ride a two-wheeled bicycle, but Omer had no patience for his slowness and caution, he tried alone and succeeded. There was also about swimming in deep water. After his death, his parents said: “immediately after birth have made icing on the cake of our family circle. A charming child who always draws all his attention to him. Your mischievousness often engulfed our lives with rapid heartbeat and many moments of laughter and satisfaction. Over the years, you developed a special sense of humor and a hearty smile that characterizes only you and raises the level of joy among all those around you. “He attended the Ganei Hillel Elementary School in Na’an and Givat Brenner High School, Until the end of the elementary school, and from the age of ten – the crowning glory – playing the drums, from the root work written by Omer in seventh grade: “… I like playing drums, playing on the computer and watching suspense films on television. My favorite song is Eyal Barkan’s “Good Morning Israel” … On Saturdays I train on drums, travel a lot and especially like to spend time with my cousin Almog. A character I admire is Idan Alterman, I especially like the funny characters he does. My first memories of home were that I liked to go out with short clothes in the rain and get wet. On Saturdays I would go with my family to pick up mushrooms and my mother says I would find the most out of them all. The most important event for me was when I was chosen to play in the Na’an orchestra with other children accompanied by Yossi Regev. “The lessons with Doron Giat and the playing of drums at every opportunity made him very happy, especially when he started playing in the fifth grade with Yossi Regev. He tried to avoid performances by the orchestra in front of an audience, “You do not need an appearance,” he said, “at least without cameras.” His teacher Doron Giat suggested that after a few years of drumming he would join an ensemble in the kibbutz, a group that met once a week for rehearsals and went to performances. Ron: “In the beginning Amr deterred thought to play to an audience made him feel as if his place of music is intimate, reserved for him. After he ‘slept on it’ he decided to join the ensemble, but later I realized that it gave him a lot from every aspect: musical confidence, communication with the musicians and conductor, deep listening and the ability to appear before an audience without mentioning his technique and character reading. “Friday and the drum room explodes from the bass of Red Hot Chili Pepper or some crazy jazz scene by Yossi,” says Dixie. Ofmar is of course already there, from the moment he got off the bus practicing, he always practiced to be better, more prepared. Dixie was never late. The mainstay of the young band, from its inception … Even when we all abandoned, Omer did not give up. The music was part of it. I always kept him on his perseverance and love of music, and just as the music was part of Omer, Omar would always be a big part of the Dixie band. The music world lost a great talent. “The moderator: “… Most of the communication between us, which at first was through words and sounds, has turned into looks, and in the last few years it has also come down … You understood exactly what I asked and always knew how to play or be at the right time. But I’m quiet because at least when we were together you reached the hundred percent, even more. ” In adolescence he made it difficult for his teachers and parents to dare to do whatever his brothers did not dare, and did so in a big way. “It was a little difficult for us, but there is no doubt that the introduction of pepper into the family,” his parents say. Omar stood out in his special sense of humor, and the daring mischievousness and pranks accompanied him even during adolescence. His high school years were not easy for him, and he barely bothered to attend classes. But in these years he discovered qualities of leadership, understanding and ability to see and listen. He was always surrounded by friends and beloved girls, and his nickname was Brandy. Omer used to spend a lot of time in the cowshed, a hobby that became a job until his induction, a job he loved very much. After his death, the dairy farmers said: “… Just now, a little while ago, we still saw you among us, with the boots on the tractor or the bulldozer, according to what should be done at the same time, We are still sitting on the couch with you, and we are still sitting on the couch with you. The boots, with the cigarette, some of us are “old.” From the distance, remember the little boy who came to work in the wake of his brother, at the beginning of high school, At the same time, he volunteered for the Civil Guard in Ramle, and before he enlisted, he took a diving course in Eilat. March 23, 2005, to the Nahal Brigade, as he wished. He served in the hospital, was pleased with the military framework, and was happy to see his leadership and determination as a leader and as a friend who listened, supported and helped. ) Was killed in the cemetery in Naan, and his family wrote in a book in his memory: “A child blessed with our talents, many things we wanted to do and we did not receive . Our world has stopped. Every passing day is harder. Our Omer, you are always with us. “The prince of tides … still has your picture sitting outside a barn with a cigarette and coffee in these ugly boots and building theories about life. Suddenly you realize that the night is not that night (there is a real danger that there will be no toilet paper in the gardens), and the day is much more gray and you must be kidding just to see this production that was raised here … We won, we got to know a wonderful person, funny and witty on the one hand, And loving on the other hand … already missing. The last place to tell you a few words: drums, coco, mop, barn, laughter, nonsense, smile, laughter, laughter, Shyness, sense of humor, “Dixie”, friends, girls, sleep. And these are just a few examples of the little things that remind us of you … do not forget. Do not forget the laughs, the quarrels, the modesty, the shy smile from every compliment thrown at you, the nostalgia, the jazz … Thank you for being, still, and always a goatPart of our lives. “As time goes by, the hope grows that you will come back one day and receive you in a warm and loving embrace, and once again we will go to a drum room together and see you playing as before and your unique spark in your eyes. Then we’ll sit and talk like we used to, be fascinated by your look at the little details of life, and then sit together hugging and never let you go again. “Omer was ten years old when he came to the first lesson in the drums … After a few weeks, a number of friends dropped out of the group, others continued, but Omer stood out above everyone else. Even then I realized that Omar was determined to succeed in the drums and train as best he could. He did not talk very much, learned the things in a korectic manner, and did his homework … At the beginning of the girls’ period, he was tempted into many musical styles, and tried to purchase every disc I recommended and to dig into any musical style I had expanded on. During this period it was really fun to teach him and many lessons went beyond the allotted time. We had a wonderful and close relationship between the music and the rhythm … and Omer participated in all the drummers’ concerts. I would challenge him, raise the bar for him… He always took it as a serious task, marveling at his devotion to his instrument and his greatness. Amer had his musical taste … before he joined the army … Our relationship moved to the level of my friends, we always joked and joked. I think his connection to music contributed a lot to him and enriched him. I will always remember his love for the music that speaks of his modesty as a person. “Rona, the drummer that Omer left her place in the Dixie:” Omer … a real throw, but not a pose, one who wears black and old shoes, Down … loves jazz and drums. And the music in his blood. When he played something in the air, there was some kind of magic that hypnotized you and you could not look at, moving the body with the subtlety inherent in it. Smiling and having a sense of humor … a smile so beautiful, of such a beautiful person … from the inside as from outside. “A member of Company B, March 2005:” On my first day of basic training I was the first soldier to enter the tent, Another soldier in the class. I sat in the tent, my heart full of apprehension. Then you went in, the heaviness and the fears faded in an instant with the first words we exchanged. The first impression you get is that you have a deep, smiling and optimistic person in front of me, exactly the person you would want to get stuck with in guarding, in some remote position, or to close a Shabbat with him. Omar, as we soon learned about him, is a smiling, funny and playful guy who has always found his way to places where pranks occur. He often led them. When everyone was already tired or despondent or upset, you could count on Omer to say the thing that would get everyone out of the mess. Where Omer was, it was fun: it’s fun to sing in the shower, it’s fun to catch a few seconds of rest between the times and of course, fun for a cigarette and coffee and even fun doing the annoying things. With all this fun I know that it was only the shallow waters of the ocean and that we were privileged to enjoy only a variety or two of the colors of your soul. “In addition to the inconceivable pain of loss, there is also a great pain over missed opportunity, a missed opportunity for too brief an acquaintance that did not allow us to delve into you and we will never complete the journey with you.” Lieutenant Colonel Asher Ben-Lulu, commander of the unit: As a fighter in the Nahal Brigade, in a company that was intended for the Shaham Battalion, I did not get to know him personally, however, according to his commanders and friends, he was heartbroken by the loss of such a decent and honest man who was a friend of truth. He chose to enlist in a combat unit, which is at the forefront of operational activity and homeland defense. Only one day before his death, Omer swore to the Israel Defense Forces and seemed proud of his decision. The Brand family At this difficult hour, I would like to express, in my name and in the name of the commanders and soldiers of the unit, our participation in the great mourning. The Nahal Brigade is bowing to Omer’s untimely death, may you know no more sorrow. “
