Bracha, Chalifa

Son of-Aliza and Benjamin, was born in Tunis in 1951. In 1960, when he was nine years old, he immigrated to Israel with his parents and settled in Kiryat Gat, where he completed his studies in an elementary school in Tunis. He studied at the Chabad School in Kiryat Gat. He completed eight grades and went to study mechanical frameworks at the Kiryat Gat youth center. In February 1969 he enlisted in the IDF and served in the Infantry Corps, where he underwent a combat paramedics course and was stationed with his father in an armored unit, and served in the regular army until February 1972. During the Yom Kippur War he served as a taxi driver He underwent a series of professional courses and was promoted to corporal. On Tu B’Shvat (18.1.1984) he was drafted into reserve duty and sent to his battalion in Eilat. He drove in a civilian vehicle, along with several other soldiers. On the Dimona-Sodom road, near the Oron junction, the car collided with the bus coming in front of it and three soldiers were killed, including a suit. He was 33 when he died. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Gat. He left behind a wife, two daughters, a son, parents, three sisters and a brother
