Bota, Shimon-Sa’id

Son of Sa’ada and Yehia. Shimon was born in 1947 in Yemen and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1949. After immigrating to Israel, the family lived in Moshav Eshtaol, where 10 children were born, in addition to two who were born in Yemen. He helped his parents greatly in educating his younger brothers and in the many housework. In his spare time he loved sports, especially played basketball. He was also a woodworking enthusiast and prepared wooden bookcases and chairs for family members, and later for the unit. Shimon married Malka and established a family with her. He always helped with the housework and the children’s education. Be most dedicated. Shimon loved farming in the family farm. In February 1969 Shimon joined the Border Police. He served in the Settlement Guard and worked at the Eitanim facility in the Jerusalem hills. People loved him very much and hooked up with him. He was an excellent conversationalist and always stood out. Always interested in others. In his work he was a pedant and did a great job. On January 28, 1972, after his term in the facility, Shimon was supposed to go home, but because of his cautious nature he decided to rest before the trip. Then he headed for his home. At Tzuba Junction, a fatal road accident occurred, in which Shimon was critically injured. He was taken to the hospital but died of his wounds on January 30, 1972. Shimon was twenty-five years old when he died, and he was buried in the cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem, leaving a family.
