Ben Pnina and Uri. He was born on the 17th of Sivan 5740 (June 1, 1980) in Kfar Sava. Brother to Sharon, grandson of Shoshana and Benjamin Bornstein, one of the founders of Kfar Saba, and Simcha and Nachman Kalman, one of the founders of Moshav Arugot. Ben began his studies at the Ussishkin elementary school, went on to the Alon junior high school and graduated from Katznelson High School in Kfar Sava. During his studies, he was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed youth movement, a branch of Kfar Sava, and in high school was also an instructor in the movement. In the fourth grade Ben decided to learn to play the trumpet, following his father. He continued playing, and soon he played in the orchestra of the Music Foundation, and then played trumpet in the Kfar Saba representative orchestra. When he reached high school, he received a son in music, and continued to play in the municipal orchestra. He participated with the orchestra in performances in the United States and Canada, and also represented his school on a delegation to Germany. Ben always made his way with a smile on his lips, and he made brave friends wherever he was. In November 1998, Ben enlisted in the IDF and was assigned to a combat unit in the Givati ​​Brigade, where he served in positions in Lebanon and the Gaza area, and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in May 2001 and attached to the company headquarters. His commander, Lt. Col. Ilan, relates: “Ben served a year and a month under my command, and during that period he managed to leave a mark on the unit, its commanders and soldiers. Thanks to his great willingness to reach out at all times and to everyone, thanks to the personal example he showed all along, his initiative and his aspiration for excellence, Ben enjoyed the sympathy of those around him. “On September 22, 2001, Trip in the Golan Heights. He was twenty-one years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the Kfar Saba military cemetery. Survived by his parents and sister. His commander, Captain Itzik, wrote: “Ben, if I could tell you how much you are lacking in the company, you would certainly understand how much they love you here, the quiet dominance with the wonderful smile. You loved your department and felt responsible for everything that happened. You were the ear that listened to everyone, from the young soldier to the veteran, and you always knew how to end the conversation with your special smile that conquered the world and the company … In our last training session on the Golan Heights, where you spent the last time.
