Boria, Bezalel
Bezalel, son of Miriam and Saadia, was born in 1936 in Aden, Yemen. In 1949 he immigrated to Israel with his extended family. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Bezalel was drafted and went to Sinai to join his unit. One day, when enemy planes attacked our forces on the “spider” axis, one of the planes was hit and fell to the ground. Bezalel was injured and severely wounded. He lay for a time in a hospital and died on 30 October 1973. He was laid to rest in the Rishon Letzion cemetery, leaving behind a wife, son and two daughters, parents, five brothers and six sisters. (His adopted son Yisrael (Reuven) Sa’id, also fell in the Yom Kippur War). Bezalel was awarded the rank of corporal.
