Bonneh, Amit

Ben Naomi and Ben-Zion. Born on March 15, 1974 in Haifa, to Eyal. Amit was a disciplined and intelligent child, always busy with his games, and from a very young age his special technical skills were noticeable. Already in his childhood he liked to solve arithmetic puzzles and to deal with thinking problems and before he entered school, he developed the technical sense: first in Lego cubes and from the age of seven years in programming basic computer programs “Sinclair”. Amit attended the “Urim” elementary school in Kiryat Yam and the “Rudman” junior high school. He stood out for his talents in the real professions and naturally continued his studies at the ORT high school in Kiryat Bialik, in electronics and later in the engineering college within the framework of the technological reserve. When he was in the 13th grade he was chosen by the Communications Corps to complete the final project with them, and Amit arrived every week at the liaison unit, where he was supposed to be assigned to a graduate degree. The driver received a driver’s license, he took care of the car, took care of his regular maintenance and when he had to drive with the “new driver” sign he again showed initiative and technical sense by assembling a motorized device from the driver’s seat to open and close the sign as needed. Amit was sensitive to aesthetics and order: his works were beautifully graphic, in clear and clean handwriting. He was a modest and shy, intelligent and prudent person, fully involved in what was going on at home and in the family, who initiated and contributed his useful advice and talents before his enlistment and as a condition for continuing his studies in the framework of the technological reserve, Amit committed to another service in the IDF for two and a quarter years. In mid-July 1992, Amit was recruited for the first time and at the end of the basic training course returned to continue his studies. In May 1994, Amit returned to military service and was assigned to serve in the communications corps, as a computer engineer in the computer unit. According to his commanders, Amit stood out as a talented soldier, a professional in his work, who always aspired to perfection. A trustworthy, gentle and pleasant fellow. Amit advanced to the rank of sergeant. In the first year of his service, a fellow student from a Jerusalem school instructed to prepare a final project for a practical degree. On weekends, Amit continued his patrols in the Civil Guard. He received a driver’s license for a police car and went on patrols around the Krayot and Haifa Bay. In addition to his excellence as an electronics engineer, Amit has shown great interest in legal and legal issues and in presenting and proving facts in a clear, precise and logical manner. He aspired to study law and began his studies towards the psychometric exam. On October 14, 1995, Amit was killed while serving in the Kiryat Yam military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery, leaving behind his parents and brother, aged twenty-one and seven months in the fall. : “Amit was an inseparable part of the unit where he served. He was very professional in his workmanship, in the thoroughness of his work and in his desire to complete each task in a complete and precise manner. Amit was involved in the development of projects in the field of computer communications. He achieved excellent achievements in his work and was admired by his commanders and colleagues. He liked to help, gave him a pleasant atmosphere and willingly accepted every assignment he was given. “The letters of Amit Bonneh’s name open the lines that his brother Eyal wrote:” We were with you for many years, so much we could learn / help, plan and donate / You are a repair / We have left you / There is no comfort! / It is terrible for us to say – / He was.
