Bondi, Meir

Meir, son of Serafina and Salomon Bondi, was born on February 2, 1923 in a village in Austria, grew up in Vienna and received a religious and traditional education. He immigrated to Israel in 1938 with “Youth Aliyah” and passed his years of training in Moshav Sde-Yaakov. On March 14, 1948, he fell in a convoy leaving Halutsza to Bet Eshel, to deliver supplies to the besieged community, and on his way back from Beit Eshel to Revivim, the car ran over a landmine and was stopped and immediately shot by snipers from the ambush. He was laid to rest at the Revivim cemetery.
