Boguslavski, Benny (Sailor)


Son of Deborah and Aryeh, was born on December 7, 1922 in Ottawa, Canada. after dangerous hardships, Benny appeared in January 1942 on Kibbutz Ein Hashofet. He went into a work life, stood in the attempt and worked hard. In the days of El Alamein he joined as one of the first members of the Palmach, and after three years of service he settled in Sha’ar Hagolan, founded a family, but did not stay for long in the lap of his family, with the outbreak of the Independence war he was called to the Palmach service in the Jerusalem district and participated in many battles at the entrance. He was among the members of the “Halachah” platoon, Palmach and Hachash fighters who were sent as reinforcements to Gush Etzion after the large attack on the Bloc on January 14, 1948. The fighters set out from Hartuv on the night of January 15-16 and were loaded with weapons, ammunition, and equipment , But due to the late hour of departure and the difficulties of the road, they were unable to reach the Gush in the middle of the night, and were discovered by villagers in the area of Beit Natif, Jaba and Surif, (“Givat hakrav” today) and fought with the masses of Arabs until they all fell in battle on the day of the 15th of Shevat 5708 (16.1.1948). He was buried in Kfar Etzion. Left a wife and child at Shaar Hagolan. On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
