Lucky and illuminating. He was born on Thursday, October 13, 1972. In Carmiel, Shimon was quiet and shy, innocent and happy, willing to give up his will, so that everyone would be happy, his good will to help those who needed help since he was a child, Shimon studied at the Shalom Aleichem Elementary School and spent three years studying at the Moshe Sharett vocational high school for carpentry, and for another year, to complete his high school studies, Shimon studied at the Amal School In Afula, in the direction of air-conditioning He did not work hard on his studies, but preferred to play and spend time with his friends and find a new adventure or challenge. He participated in a course for young men and women in the external studies unit of the University of Haifa. Shimon also participated in the marine project of the Tiberias Maritime Center, a disco course, a training program for youth of the Civil Guard and the Gadna, a preparatory program for the IDF, and a course for audio-visual and disco operators. He received a certificate attesting that he volunteered for the community in Migdal HaEmek, and finally took part in a pre-military driving course for freight cars on behalf of the recruitment office in Tiberias. Shimon was drafted into the IDF in September 1990. He underwent basic training, was stationed at the Air Force headquarters and served as a truck driver, and according to the testimony of his direct commander, Shimon was a good soldier, quiet and disciplined. Shimon fell during his service. While on vacation, he drove a civilian car from Tel Adashim to Migdal Haemek. On the way there was an accident and Shimon was killed there. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Migdal Haemek. He was eighteen when he died. He left behind his parents, brother Ilan and sister Inbal. To commemorate his name, the family participated in a Torah scroll for the Ohel Yitzchak synagogue in Migdal Ha’Emek and built a synagogue named after him, Nahalat Shai in the Pearl of the Valley.
