At the time he was a member of the Scout movement, which was founded by the youth activists in Tripoli. In 1949 his family immigrated to Israel and was sent to the Beit Lid camp. After completing six months in the camp, the family moved to the Neveh Yemin settlement in Kfar Saba and Haim completed his elementary studies at the local school. He was later accepted to the maritime school at Mikhmoret. After completing his studies in Mikhmoret, he returned to the moshav and did agricultural work in the family farm. During this period, infiltrators penetrated from the Jordanian border and volunteered to guard at night to protect the economy. was drafted into the IDF in mid-December 1957 was placed in the Armored Corps. After completing basic training, he was sent to the Armored Corps School, where he took various naval courses and became a liaison officer in a tank. After that, he passed a course for tank commanders and a course for armor officers. He was an excellent soldier and a dedicated commander who cared for his soldiers. During the war, he was promoted to the rank of captain and when the fighting ended he was released and returned home to his family. As part of his work, he worked hard to develop his business and expand his activities. When the Yom Kippur War broke out Haim went with his unit, which was sent to the Golan Heights in order to participate in blocking the Syrian forces. He fought valiantly and resourcefully against many enemy forces, in bloody battles. In the armor-armor battle that took place at Tel Fares on October 10, 1973, Haim’s tank was hit directly and he was killed. He was laid to rest in the Kfar Saba cemetery. He left behind a wife, a son and two daughters, a mother and eight brothers and sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to the rank of Major. The mayor of Kfar Sava, Haim’s hometown, spoke about his character: “Haim was a member of the educational institutions in Moshav Neveh-Yamin and the maritime school in Mikhmoret, where he received his spiritual and national baggage. Here, too, his talents and superior qualities were expressed. Chaim was the glory of the family – he demanded much from himself, never shied away from the hard way, which involved too much effort, he did not hesitate to make himself difficult for others. At the same time, he became fond of his friends and became a social focus; All thanks to the same line of honesty and responsibility that characterized him throughout his life. He was a loyal husband, a devoted father, and knew how to build a warm, beautiful family nest, full of love and loyalty. Chaim’s fall is a big loss but not only among his family. all of Kfar Saba mourns the downfall of one of its dear sons. “
