Boanu, Yehuda

Boanu, Yehuda

Son of Yehoshua and Siniora. Born on February 14, 1951 in Lydda, he studied at the Weizman elementary school in Lod and was a good student, alert and loved by his teachers and classmates. Yehuda wanted to continue his studies for matriculation exams, after his military service. He was drafted into the IDF in early February 1969 and assigned to the armored infantry company in the Armored Corps. He spent most of his military service in the Canal. In the last week of his life, when he returned home on vacation, he informed his family that he was about to complete his term in the Suez Canal area. There was no limit to the family’s joy, but fate was cruel to him. On the 26th of Kislev, 5726 (26.11.1969), he fell in enemy shelling during a patrol. He was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery.
