Blushchinsky, Gennady


Ben Irena and Peter. He was born on May 8, 1974 in the Soviet Union and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1991. He attended an elementary school in Berdichev, Ukraine, and the Technikom High School. After immigrating to Israel, he completed his studies at the “Yavne” high school yeshiva in Haifa. Gennady was a diligent student, and succeeded in his studies. In the eighth year of his studies, he was accepted to Technikom without exams, based on his high grades. Like all Russian boys he was a member of a youth movement. He devoted his spare time to checkers and chess games with friends and spent the weekend traveling with his friends in the woods. Gennady was a sports fan and practiced in a gym by lifting weights. He read books a lot and loved to learn languages. During his high school years, he began to participate in Zionist activities in the synagogue, where he learned the Hebrew language and excelled in it, as well as Jewish heritage and culture with Israel and its festivals. Gennady urged his family to immigrate to Israel until his dream came true. In Israel, he was accepted to the computers trend in the school and since then, he has opened a whole world. He worked hard to acquire a personal computer, spent many hours with him, found a common language and was successful in all computer projects and exams. Gennady was modest, quiet, and shy. However, when he had a goal in mind, he achieved at all costs his special and peaceful way. His high school diploma was proof of his strong and stubborn character. At the beginning of August 1993, he was drafted into the IDF and was assigned to the General Staff, to a base of equipment in the north of the country On December 23, 1993, Gennady fell to the military cemetery in Nahariya. Survived by his parents and sister – Svetlana. He was nineteen when he fell.
