Blush, Amir


Son of Miriam and Reuven, he was born on July 3, 1961, in Kiryat Hayim, in Haifa Bay. An only child in a family full of suffering. His mother was widowed at an early age from her first husband, who fell in 1955 in a clash with infiltrators in the Jezreel Valley. She was then eight months pregnant. A month after she was widowed her daughter was born. After several years of distress, the mother married again, and after a long medical treatment her son Amir was born. The tragedy and anxiety that were the lot of the family accompanied Amir’s childhood. He studied at the elementary school in Kiryat Haim and continued at the ORT vocational high school in Kiryat Bialik, in the framework of frameworks. In January 1979, Amir enlisted in the IDF, and was assigned to a maintenance unit near his home, where Amir was trained in basic training and served in a camp near Haifa on 30 Sivan, June 21, 1982, a car drove in reverse, hit him and wounded him with mortal wounds. He was 21 years old when he died. Amir was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind his parents and sister. The commander of his unit wrote to his family: “Amir was well integrated into the unit, creating a comfortable atmosphere with his constant smile, and he fulfilled his duties faithfully and thoroughly.”
