Blumenthal,Yisroel-Mattityahu


Son of-Chava and Moshe-Ben-Zion, was born in 1920 in the village of Bresl, Hungary. He was educated in religious education. He grew up in the countryside and specialized in agriculture. Yisroel-Matityahu joined the New Zionist Organization and at the age of 20 it was his turn to immigrate. In 1940, he boarded the “Ze’ev Jabotinsky” ship. He was active in the ranks of the Irgun, living in Jerusalem and earning a living from his work in the bakery, and he was a quiet and friendly person in his private life, loved his family and devoted himself to it, but above all fulfilled his duty to the people and the country. He fell in the courtyard of the “Tipat Halav” building, where his unit’s headquarters was located, on duty on 21 Iyar, May 30, 1948, and was buried In Sheik Bader A. He left a wife, Hinda, and four children. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was transferred to the eternal rest in the Har Herzl cemetery.
