Bloomberg, Nathan


Son of Rachel and Moshe, was born on September 22, 1924 in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. When he was 11, he immigrated to Israel with his parents. Nathan completed an elementary school in Haifa and studied frameworks. In 1942, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the British army, and when he was not accepted into the infantry battalions of the Jewish Brigade, he joined another corps and served in the Middle East, first in Egypt and then in Iraq. Upon his discharge from the army he returned to work in his father’s workshop, acquired expertise, and became his faithful assistant. He joined the active service of the Hagana and was one of the first to enlist in the Carmeli Brigade, where he participated in terrorist activities in and around Haifa, the liberation of Haifa, the conquest of Acre and the battles of Mishmar Ha’emek. Brosh, whose goal was to destroy the Syrian bridgehead in the Mishmar Hayarden region, was shot in the Halutz company, which captured an outpost from eastern Jordan, and at the time of a counterattack by enemy surplus forces, was hit twice and fell on Tuesday, July 10, 1948, And was put to rest at the military cemetery in Rosh Pina.
