Bloom, Chaim


Son of Mordechai and Chaya. He was born on the 21st of Sivan, June 28, 1948, in Nicosia, Cyprus. In 1949, the family reached the shores of the country. He completed his studies at the Komemiyut School in Bnei Brak, and continued his studies at the municipal school there. He was a diligent and serious student, and was highly regarded by the school’s management and teachers. He was modest, friendly, and sympathetic to all his friends, because of his positive qualities. He was different from the other students, in his quietness, and in his approach to books. He was drafted into the Armored Corps, in August 1966. During the course of his regular service, the Six-Day War broke out, and on the first day of the battles, on the 26th of Iyar, June 5, 1967, he fell in battle. He was buried in the military emergency cemetery, in Bari, and later transferred to the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He was memorialized in the following activities: A sports day at Ramat Gan Stadium, and a silver trophy, with his name on it, is presented to the winners. In the library of the same school, the Bnei Brak Municipal Council donated war books, and the high school published a pamphlet in his memory, titled “Dafy Chaim.” Part of his estate was published in Volume 4 of “Goily Ash”.
