Blobstein, Hanoch


Son of Shlomo and Leah. He was born in May 1923 in Kfar Malal. He completed his studies at the Yesod elementary school and then began working in his parents’ farm. Full of joy and full of energy and invention from his youth. In 1942 he joined the Jewish Brigade and took part in all its activities. Was active in matters of illegal immigration. He was released only in September 1946 and since then worked as a driver in Haifa. He was one of the first volunteers to combat the War of Independence. In January 1948 he participated in battles on all fronts of the Galilee. In September 1948 he moved to the military police. He was awarded the rank of First Sergeant and was in training at the Military Police School. Here he was recognized as a man who was perfectly responsible and orderly and would demand as much precision and loyalty from himself as he had demanded from others and for that his subordinates loved and respected him. On the 20th of Tishrei 5710 (October 13, 1949) he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to eternal rest in the Kfar Malal cemetery. On the third anniversary of his death, the training base inaugurated a club for officers and sergeants named after him. In the book “Bizchutam”, which is a memorial book issued by the joint school for the children of the workers in Sharon (Kfar Malal, 1954), several pages are devoted to its history and lists.
