Blidstein, Arie (‘Liova’)


Son of Henrich and Galia. Born in Kiev, Russia on August 31, 1949, immigrated to Israel in 1973. Arieh attended elementary school in his hometown in the English track, and continued his studies in this special high school in Kiev. After graduating from high school in 1966, he began his studies at the Technion in the Faculty of Electronics, where he was a member of many youth organizations and devoted a great deal of time to hobbies and hobbies. He loved literature and even wrote stories and plays, nature and the landscape are poor He was very well-read and read many books in these fields, thanks to his excellent memory and his many fields of interest, he grew up as an educated boy, and his high intelligence and gentleness made him a natural leader from his childhood, He graduated from the Technion and received a degree in electrical and electrical engineering, and in 1969 he married his girlfriend, Rivka, who was a member of the Faculty of Architecture, and in 1971 began to take an interest in Jewish history and purchased books for the study of the Hebrew language. He and his wife applied for permits to immigrate to Israel and became aliyah activists. In his activities for the immigration of Jews to Israel, Aryeh was arrested and imprisoned. He was later released following public pressure after his arrest was published in the Western press. In 1973 Aryeh and his wife received permission to leave the Soviet Union. They immigrated to Israel and built their home in Tel Aviv. Aryeh was hired as an electronics engineer in the Ministry of Health and was very successful in his work. In 1976 he began working in the Air Force as an automation and electricity engineer. Captain Dan, who was in charge, says: “From his first day of work, his special qualities stood out, and he excelled in his silence and showed unusual perseverance and diligence as an example of his employees and servants.” When his daughter, Erna, was born, she did not know the joy of a border Aryeh. He loved her passionately and devoted all his spare time to her. He dreamed of the future, the days he would teach her to swim, guide her through her studies, and see her grow and grow magnificently. Aryeh took advantage of his many talents, built the kitchen cabinets and the balcony with his own hands, and corrected himself for every electrical malfunction that was discovered in his home. He was willing to help friends, neighbors, and acquaintances wherever they wanted. He never showed anger or anger at anyone, there was always a smile on his lips, and all his manner was pleasant and calm. Arieh was drafted into the IDF in May 1974. After completing basic training he served in the Artillery Corps in the Golan Heights and was commanded to be commended by his commanders After his discharge from the regular army service he continued to serve as a reserve soldier in the Artillery Corps in the south of Israel. 20.10.1977), during an active reserve service, Arieh fell while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by a wife, daughter and father – in Israel, and a mother and sister – in the Soviet Union. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Aryeh was an outstanding soldier in the unit, he was responsible, disciplined and entrepreneurial, and contributed greatly to the unit, beyond what was required of him.”
