Blender, Eliezer
Eliezer, son of Sara and Manis Blender, was born in 1921 in Poland, in a village near Hrubieszow. In 1944 he joined the Polish army and took part in the liberation of Poland, and when he completed his service, he joined the “Dror” Zionist pioneering training commune in Bandzin, and from there he went to Germany and waited for his turn to immigrate to Eretz Yisrael. Eliezer arrived in Israel during the War of Independence and was immediately drafted into the Negev Brigade. During Operation Yoav, the breakthrough to the Negev, his unit attacked Iraq-Al-Manshiyya. Eliezer fell on the 13th of Tishrei (October 16, 1948). On 29.9.1949, he was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
