Bizawi, Eli (Lilo)


Eli (Lilo), son of Tzila (Zoli) and Victor, was born on January 21, 1954 in Tunis and immigrated to Israel with his family that year. Eli was drafted into the IDF in the middle of May 1972 and volunteered to serve in the Golani Brigade, serving as an example of his comrades in his good temperament, obedience and tolerance, and his commanders gave him the “Operational Service Award”. On Yom Kippur, during his tour of the Beit-Jan area, Eli was injured and fell in battle on 13 Cheshvan (8.11.1973), and was brought to eternal rest at the Lod cemetery. He was followed by a father, a mother, six brothers and two sisters, and after he fell, he was promoted to the rank of corporal.
