Bitteran, Moshe Itzhak


Son of Yitzhak. Born in 1916 in Greece, he immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1936 and worked as an agricultural laborer in Ramatayim, Magdiel and Kfar Malal. During the Second World War, he enlisted in the British Army and was assigned to the Operations Company No. 1039 of the Engineering Corps. He served in Egypt and was later sent to Greece with the British Expeditionary Force, which was meant to stop the German invasion of this country. At the end of April 1941, the corps surrendered to the Germans, and most of its members were captured. Among them was Moshe. After two months in captivity, on the 24th of Adar I 5703 (March 1, 1943) he died, and his burial place is unknown.
