Ben Esther and Elazar. Born on 27.4.1968 in Morocco and immigrated to Israel with his family in February 1981. The family first lived in the Dimona Absorption Center and later settled in Jerusalem. Shimon began studying at the elementary school in Dimona and continued his high school studies at ORT in the electronics track. After moving to Jerusalem he continued his studies at the Ginnogli High School. Was a reading enthusiast and used to read literature. He took an interest in everything that was going on in Israel and read a lot of newspapers. Because of his quiet temperament, he did not like to stand out. His main hobby was sports, especially basketball, which devoted him to his best time during military service. Before his induction into the IDF, he worked hard to develop physical fitness, with the aim of serving in the combat force, and was recruited to serve in the Golani Brigade in July 1986. During his service he was a disciplined soldier who performed his duties to the satisfaction of his commanders. Who completed his military service at the rank of sergeant-sergeant in October 1987. Shortly after his discharge from the regular army service in July 1990, he was called up for reserve duty, and Shimon fell during his service in Tze’elim on July 17, 1990 ) And was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving behind his parents, five sisters and two brothers – , Pnina, Yaffa, Ya’akov, Hanan, Naomi and Ilanit In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote that Shimon stood out in his strength, in the spirit of his volunteerism and professionalism.
