Biton, Remy
Son of Nili and Jacob, was born on 15.6.1962 in Rehovot. Rami started his studies at Yavne’el Elementary School, and moved to the Katzir High School and High School. In July 1977 he signed a commitment to serve in the regular army for one year after completing his regular service, and began studying at a pre-military boarding school at the Air Force Technical School in Haifa. Rami attended this school for three and a half years, and completed his high school studies in technical studies, holding planes. At school he was particularly interested in electronics. In September 1980, Rami enlisted in the IDF and served in the Israel Air Force, completing an advanced course of jet mechanic, promoted to corporal, excelled at work and was a candidate for officers’ course. On August 3, 1981, when he was dealing with a broken electric water heater, Rami was electrocuted and died when he was 19 years old when he was killed, and he was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rehovot, leaving behind his parents, two brothers and a sister. His unit wrote about him in a letter of condolence to his parents: “Rami served in our unit for 10 months. He did his job well and efficiently. Helped a lot of friends and was very popular in society. “
