Yitzhak was drafted into the IDF in late July 1969. At first he was a member of a religious program who settled in Halamish,after that he was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he completed a tank driver course and a tank course, completing compulsory service in late July 1972, Attrition, his release papers recorded the following: “Good Soldier. Yitzhak, who worked in the Herzliya area, was very industrious and his work was a big thing in the neighborhood, and he gave most of his profits to his mother, He had never complaned about his difficult financial situation, and his faith in religion had always helped him to be happy in his life and would have been religiously observant, and when he was once injured in a work accident, he was the only one in his family Who smiled and even calmed his frightened mother, he served in the Yom Kippur War as a tank crew on the northern front. On the 7th of Tishrei 5734 (7.10.1973), in the harsh fighting, his tank was hit and Yitzhak was killed, he was brought to rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery and left behind a father, a mother, six brothers and a sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Yitzhak was an outstanding tank crew member and loved all his friends.” Defense Minister Moshe Dayan wrote: “Yitzhak was a dedicated soldier and a loyal friend. He was loved by everyone who knew him. “His parents donated a Torah scroll and a special box to the book, which was placed in the Herzliya synagogue, and his name was commemorated at the Bar-Yochai religious school in Herzliya.
