Biton, Alon
Alon, son of Pamela and Shalom Biton, was born in 1970 in Kiryat Haim. Alon joined the IDF on February 13, 1989. He asked to serve in a combat unit. Serving in the IDF had a unique meaning for him, and he wanted to prove that he was especially capable. Alon joined the Artillery Corps. He underwent basic training in the IAF, an artillery course in Shivta and was assigned to serve in the “Nimr” battalion in the Golan Heights. On August 3, 1989, Alon was shot at the base before he was 19. He was laid to rest at the Hof Hacarmel military cemetery in Haifa.
