Bitan, Yechiel

Son of Anna and Alfredo. Yechiel was born in Spain on June 25, 1960. He immigrated to Israel with his family – parents and two brothers – and they settled in Givat Olga in Hadera, where they had other children, Yehiel studied and was educated in the “Amishav” elementary school in the neighborhood . After graduating, he continued his high school studies at the vocational high school “Amal.” He spent two years studying automotive mechanics and decided to undergo training in a heavy engineering vehicle (in preparation for the IDF. As a result, he moved to the “Neurim” vocational high school, where he studied the subject of mechanical engineering equipment for another year. Yehiel was also a volunteer in the Civil Guard. Yechiel did not achieve his Lev’s desire to finish high school and enlist in the army. On the 19th of Shevat 5738 (19.1.1988) he was killed by a bullet while serving in the Civil Guard. Yechiel was eighteen years old when he fell. He was buried in the Hadera cemetery. Survived by parents, two sisters and three brothers
