Bitan, Assaf

Ben Tirza and Eli. He was born on the 27th of Nissan 5743 (27.3.1983) in Afula. A year earlier, Assaf’s father, Eli, had gone on a trip to Morocco. During his visit to a holy place he prayed and vowed that if a son was born, he would return there and slay sheep. In fact, Tirza, Assaf’s mother, became pregnant. In spring 1983, Assaf was born in the Haemek Hospital in Afula, the son of four daughters – Neta, Tali, Gili and Ronit. The joy was great, the covenant was invited about a thousand people, and his father went to Morocco, fulfilled the vow and slaughtered sheep.
