Biron, Yoel


He was born onthe first of Tevet, December 25, 1927 in Poland, and he immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1936. With the outbreak of the War of Independence in November 1947, he left his workplace, joined the “Kiryati” Brigade and was among the defenders of Bat Yam. On the second day of Chol HaMoed Pesach, 17 Nissan, April 26, 1948, he was hit by the bullet of an Arab sniper who ambushed the defenders while changing the guards at their positions, while he offered first aid to a friend who was wounded in front of him. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
